Martial arts program
offered at Oct. 12 Hadassah meeting
Greater Atlanta Hadassah's new South Atlanta group will offer a self defense program at its October meeting in on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Balmoral Village Apartments Clubhouse in Peachtree City. Held in conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the program offers participants the opportunity to learn basic self-defense moves and drills for prevention of rape and sexual harassment. Master Bonilla of Oh Do Kwan Martial Arts will be the instructor. There will be a $5 charge for non-members, but no charge for members. Those participating should wear comfortable clothing. Those attending are asked to donate their old cell phones and accessories which will be distributed to local battered women's shelters for women to use for 911 purposes. This is a chapter-wide effort through Greater Atlanta Hadassah in October. Other items needed for the Fayetteville battered women's shelter include women's and children's underwear and socks, new or used pots and pans, shower curtains with rings, and blankets. Reservations can be made via e-mail at HadAtlanta@aol.com or by contacting the Greater Atlanta Hadassah office at 404-256-5007.
