Wednesday, October 11, 2000 Jones achieves high metro area ranking Tim Jones Communities, which is based in Jonesboro, has been ranked 15th in the Atlanta Business Chronicle's 2000 listing of "Atlanta's Top 25 Home Builders." The ranking, which appeared in the Sept. 6-13, 2000, edition of the publication, is based on the number of permits issued to local companies in 1999. The No. 15 ranking is a move up from the previous year's listing, when the company was No. 17. Jones, owner and president of Tim Jones Communities, is a resident of the Lake Spivey area of Clayton County. He has been in construction for most of his life, and he founded Tim Jones Communities just over 20 years ago. Now the leading builder in the Clayton/Henry area of Metro South, the company has produced approximately 2,000 new homes over the years and is currently building well over 300 homes a year with its products ranging in price from the low $100,000s to over $300,000. In recent years, the company has consistently broken its own records each year in new home sales and closings.
