Classic Tour of Homes set for October

More than 100 homes to be showcased

Pathway Communities has announced its 16th Annual Classic Tour of Homes, to be held Oct. 14-15 and 21-22 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The free tour will highlight some of the finest communities, homes and home builders in Fayette, Coweta and Henry counties. Due to its past success, Pathway has expanded the tour to include two weekends and longer hours of operation.

This year, the tour will spotlight an unprecedented 100 furnished and unfurnished traditional, custom and turn-of-the-century style homes, making this Pathway's largest tour. Homes on the tour will range from the mid $100s to more than $500,000.

"This tour will showcase a wide array of prices and home styles," says Peggy Sullivan, Pathway Communities director of corporate communications. "Tour goers will not only see beautiful homes, they will see what makes Peachtree City, Newnan and Stockbridge three of Atlanta's most desirable living locations."

The highlight of the tour will be Pathway's Coweta County master-planned communities Avery Park and SummerGrove.

Located on Ga. Highway 29, Avery Park has an impressive amenity package, including walking trails and paths, a competition-size swimming pool, tennis courts and community parks. Avery Park's commercial Village Square entrance will feature a variety of shops, offices and neighborhood services for residents and the surrounding area.

SummerGrove, situated at the intersection of Shenandoah Boulevard and Lower Fayetteville Road in Newnan, is one of Atlanta's best-selling master-planned communities.

The community has over five miles of walking trails and pedestrian paths, a 100-acre lake, tennis courts, a competition-size swimming pool and an 18-hole public golf course designed by Jemsek Golf, winners of the Jack Nicklaus Family Golf Award.

In addition, both SummerGrove and Avery Park offer a unique technology program, including structured wiring for every home, the potential for ultra-fast Internet access and an interactive community Intranet.

The tour will also feature Peachtree City, one of America's most successful master-planned communities. Neighborhoods featured on the tour include The Point on Lake Kedron and Sutton's Cove, located on Regents Park off Georgian Parkway and Kedron Hills, located on Peachtree Parkway. All Peachtree City neighborhoods are connected to the city's 80-mile cart path system and all are located in some of Georgia's top-ranked public schools districts.

The Chimneys, located on Ga. Highway 74 just outside Peachtree City, will also be a showcased neighborhood during the Tour of Homes.

Pathway Communities' newest master-planned community, Monarch Village, located on Walt Stephens Road in Henry County, will also be a featured community for this year's tour. Monarch Village has more than 125 acres of green space and natural areas, a 16-acre lake with boating facilities, a community clubhouse, a resort-style pool and waterslide, eight lighted tennis courts and a variety of community parks and village gathering places.

The community will have a commercial Village Square featuring a variety of shops, offices and neighborhood services. An on-site elementary school is also proposed for Monarch Village.

Like SummerGrove and Avery Park, Monarch Village will offer a unique technology program, including upgraded wiring for every home, the potential for ultra-fast Internet access and an interactive community Intranet.

Sullivan says that in addition to giving tour goers a glimpse of each community, the tour will exhibit the latest in housing trendsfrom cutting-edge technology to decorating ideas to innovative floor plan designs.
