Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble if ye want chili, head to Peachtree City on the double.

The fifth annual Peachtree Civitan Great Chili Challenge returns to the pine island in the parking lot of the Aberdeen Village Shopping Center Saturday, Oct. 7. There will be lots of entertainment and prizes at the event, which is a fund-raiser to benefit the Joseph Sams School and the Bedford School.

Mix 98.1 will be on hand doing a live remote and the band Crosstown Traffic will perform throughout the day. A deluxe model golf cart will be raffled off at the end of the day. Tickets can be purchased at one ticket for $5, three for $10, seven for $20 and 40 for $100. The drawing for the golf cart will be conducted during the awards ceremony and the winner does not have to be present.

So there will be a lot do to do at The Great Chili Challenge, but the real name of the game is chili. There will be categories for People's Choice (voted on by attendees), Judges Choice, Tres Caliente (hottest - to be voted on by attendees), Professional (restaurants, chefs, food businesses, etc.), Eat Your Veggies (vegetarian) and Most Creative. There will also be an award for Best Booth.

Admission to the Great Chili Challenge and chili tasting at the event is free. Civitan is an international community service organization founded in 1917 in Birmingham, Ala. Peachtree City Civitan meets at the Hampton Inn on Ga. Highway 74 second and fourth Tuesdays at 7 p.m. For information about the club, call 770-631-2311.
