Falcons soar at homecoming

The Fayette Christian School Falcons had their homecoming game recently.

Their opponent was Pace Christian and maybe even the weather. It was a memorable evening for all those involved, especially the seven Falcon seniors.

Senior Travis Self opened the game with an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Pace got the ball and coughed it up immediately, as Falcon senior Allen Groth intercepted a pass. Tim Howell, also a senior at Fayette Christian, scored off a one-yard touchdown run, followed by a 25-yard touchdown run on their next possession.

Self scored again before the first quarter ended and the Falcons led 30-0. Senior James Harris had a 36-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to make it 38-0 at the half.

Despite the rain, the halftime events were a success. The 11th grade won the float competition, Samantha Cox was crowned homecoming queen and Rebecca Diehl from the 10th grade was the princess.

The second half was uneventful for the Falcons. Pace returned a punt for a touchdown in the third quarter and the final score was 38-8.

The Falcons are 3-3 overall and 3-2 in their region.
