I was amazed to read that Mr. Phillip Foster was upset because of the lack of coverage of the Fayette County Band by NBC. Amazed because Channel 2, WSB, is not the local affiliate of NBC but of ABC. Therefore it had nothing to do with the local or national coverage.

Channel 11, WXIA, is the local affiliate, and as far as their coverage of the band's send-off and return, it was the poorest of any of the major channels.

Personally, I was not impressed by any of NBC's Olympic coverage. It was the Worst Ever. I must agree with Mr. Foster: I was disappointed because I did not see the expected coverage of "Our Band," but let's complain to the correct local affiliate.

[Editor's reply: In our policy on letters to the editor, we state that we sometimes edit "for clarity." It was that editing attempt that produced the misidentification of the NBC affiliate. Thus, the fault lies with this boneheaded editor, not with Mr. Foster. He simply labelled the offending station as "the NBC affiliate." The editor added the confusion. Apologies to all. CNB]
