• Vainer & Vainer Nephrology and Hypertension Services, Inc. is having an open house Oct.10 from 3 p.m.-6 p.m.

Dr. Alon Vainer, Dr. Soren Vainer and Dr. Braham Taparia are inviting the public to celebrate the opening of their new dialysis clinic.

• Souther Regional Medical Center recently appointed Rick Smith as Director of Public Relations and Marketing.

Previously, Smith was Public relations Director at Aydlotte & Cartwright, an advertising, marketing and public relations agency in Atlanta.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast communication from the University of Louisville.
