Clayton State offers free concert

The Music Department faculty of Clayton College & State University will offer a free public concert in Spivey Hall at 8:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6.

The program is part of the CCSU Faculty Series at Spivey, the University's world-class performance hall. The program will consist of German Romantic music.

"An Evening of German Romantic Lied" will feature the talents of CCSU director of keyboard Dr. Michiko Otaki, director of composition and theory Dr. Brent Weaver and director of vo
cal activities Dr. Cheryl Boyd-Waddell.

The program will include: "An die ferne Geliebte" (Beethoven) performed by Weaver and Otaki; "Keller Lieder" (Hugo Wolf) performed by Boyd-Waddell and Otaki; "Schubert Lieder" performed by new Clayton State faculty members Patrick Newell and Amy Foster; and will close with Brahms "Quartets," performed by new adjunct faculty member and CCSU graduate Holly McCarren, guest artist John O'Neal, Weaver, Foster and Boyd-Waddell.
