Canon David Kyle Foster, former Hollywood actor and male prostitute, will lead a seminar on "Sexual HealingHow to Minister to Someone Who Is Sexually Broken," Friday and Saturday, Sept. 22 and 23 in the chapel of Operation Mobilization in Tyrone. The seminar is sponsored by Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church. Foster also will speak at the 10 a.m. service at Christ the King on Sunday, Sept. 24. Christ the King currently holds services in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley funeral home on Highway 74 in Peachtree City.

There is a $10 charge for the seminar which includes lunch on Saturday. Child care is not provided on Friday or Saturday. The seminar begins on Friday at 7 p.m. and continues on Saturday from 8:45 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Foster, once called "the next James Dean," is the son of a Presbyterian minister and was a successful actor who led a secret life as a prostitute prior to committing his life to Christ in 1980. He founded Mastering Life Ministries in 1987, and is the author of "Sexual Healing: God's Plan for the Sanctification of Broken Lives," a book which is in its fourth printing. Translated into several languages, the book has been turned into an award-winning video and audio course. It currently is in use by Prison Fellowship, Teen Challenge, Youth With A Mission, Exodus International, and several other national ministries.

Foster was ordained as a priest
in the International Communion of Charismatic Episcopal Churches and received his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is nearing completion of the Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry.

He serves as a Canon for the Cathedral Church of the Messiah in Jacksonville, Fla. and has served as an adjunct professor at Asbury Theological Seminary, Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry, and the Bible Institute of Hawaii. He has been published in a number of journals and magazines, including "Touchstone Journal," "Southern Baptist Youth Ministry Update," "New Man Magazine," "Charisma," and "Surum Corda." He has appeared on numerous television programs, including The 700 Club, The Coral Ridge Hour, Focus on the Family, and others. His radio program, "Mastering Life," is a Covenant Award winner.

Foster's seminar is designed to present a comprehensive biblical plan for permanent healing and change in the area of sexual brokenness, including, but not limited to, sexual identity confusion, child sexual abuse, sexual addiction, pornography and compulsive masturbation. Its intent is to equip people to minister to their friends and parishioners in the area of sexual dysfunction and to give hope and direction to those suffering from sexual-emotional distress and addictions.
