·Azalea Estates in Fayetteville is celebrating National Assisted Living Week and has several events planned to celebrate the special week.

On Saturday, the center is sponsoring a pet adoption from 1-3 p.m., in conjunction with the Fayette County Humane Society.

A forum is set for Sept.12 on "What is Assisted Living and What to look for in Choosing a Community" at 6:30 p.m. in the center's dining room.

On Sept.14, the center sponsors a special Southern Gospel Concert by the Revelations at 6:30 p.m. The group was formed in 1968 by Becky and Bill Strandberg. The group is actively involved at the center, along with their daughter, Penny Miller, who works at Azalea Estates.

·"Telecommunications, Rural Georgia and the New Economy" is the topic of a daylong seminar this Thursday at Clayton College & State University's Downs Continuing Education Center in Morrow.

The focus of the seminar is expanding participants' knowledge of telecommunications and the ways their communities can accelerate the use of information technology and the Internet to enable them to compete globally.
