Savoryards to hold auditions for 2000-2001 theater season

Auditions for the 21st consecutive season for the Savoyards Musical Theatre Company will be Sept. 7-9 at the North Atlanta Center for the Arts, North Atlanta High School.

Auditions are by appointment only by calling 404-377-9948. Principal and chorus roles are available. All positions are paid. Audition requirements include two songs in English (contrasting styles) and a one-minute monologue. An accompanist will be provided.

Wear comfortable clothing for movement requirements. Limited children’s roles are available.

The Savoyards Musical Theatre Company, under the direction of J. Lynn Thompson, opens the season Nov. 2-5 with Jerry Herman’s wonderful classic, “Mame.” Savoyards favorite Jeff McKenly will direct the production.

“Man of La Mancha” will be directed by guest artist Steven Daigle of the Ohio Light Opera and will be presented Feb. 15-18, 2001. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Carousel” will close the situation, May 3-6, 2001.

All performances are at the Robert Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech.
