Panthers
safety, Houston, commits to Tech By
MICHAEL BOYLAN It appears one of our local football players is heading to the hallowed halls of Georgia Tech. Reuben Houston, a running back and safety for the Starr's Mill Panthers has committed to play football for the Yellow Jackets next year. Houston was recently named to the AJC's Super Prep 11 and is also a former state champion in the triple jump. He jumped 46 feet and nine inches as a sphomore. Last season, Houston, 6'0, 185 pounds, saw time at defensive end. He is a very quick player and has tremendous athleticism. Houston runs the 40 in 4.45 seconds, benches 300 pounds and squats 450 pounds. He is also a strong student, sporting a 3.7 GPA and scoring an 1,130 on the SAT. Houston made his decison during a scrimmage at Tech during Fan Day over the weekend. The Tech football program netted several other recruits over the weekend. |
