Sprint Car Racing
heats up Senoia track
Wild and exciting Winged Outlaw
Sprint Car Racing was on tap Saturday night at Senoia Speedway as the
United Sprint Car Series (U.S.C.S.) racing series invaded the 3/8-mile
track for their last appearance of the 2000 season.
Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL. took the lead for the win on lap 13 from his
second row starting position for his tenth straight win in a row, in spite
of a flat right rear tire as he took the checkered flag.
In the Sportsman division, Union City's Rod Williford passed second places
finisher Steve Payton on the third lap leading from that lap on to collect
a bounty placed on Andy Cash along with his first win of the 2000 season
in the Sportsman division at Senoia Speedway. Cash finished third with
Mark Lore in fourth ahead of Cooper in fifth.
Robbie Gober from Locust Grove grabbed the lead for the win just four
laps into the Street Stock feature to record his fifth win. Senoia's Mark
Lore finished second to Gober with Fayetteville's Mike Steffens in third
with Jason Turner and Larry Pierce rounding out the top five.
Thirteen Mini Stocks started Saturday nights feature with the third place
finisher, Mike Chambers from Griffin, inheriting his first win of the
season after the cars of Troy French and Darrell Carlson were disqualified
for illegal motors when Cary Hamilton protested them after the race. Hamilton
was disqualified last week for the same infraction. Second place was awarded
to Josh Mattison with Cary Hamilton, Shawn Morman and James Waite rounding
out the top five.
Senoia's Bubba Pollard led from start to finish for his seventh win of
the season in the Young Lyons/Chargers Division of the Legends series
at Senoia Speedway. Blake Powers was second with last weeks winner Scott
Tinsley in third followed by Cindy Anderson and Michelle Theriault in
fourth and fifth.
Locust Grove's Shane Upchurch took the lead with 11-laps remaining for
his fourth win of the season in the Pro Division at Senoia Speedway. Doug
Stevens, who led the first 13-circuits, finished second with Reed Sorenson
third followed by Walt Brannen in fourth and Andy James in fifth.
