Jackson Ga.s B.J. Holly
inherited the lead for the win in the Late Model division with two laps
remaining, when the first and second place cars driven by Senoias
Chad Caldwell and Tyrones Scott Griffin were put to the rear after
a mishap between turns three and four on lap 36 of the Alan Vigil Southlake
Ford 50 Late Model Feature at Senoia Speedway.
"It was just a luck deal there at the end when the first and second
place guys spun leaving me up front with just a few laps to go,"
stated Holly. "From my point of view it looked like the best opportunity
Griffin had all night to get underneath the 10 car was when they came
up on the lap car between three and four and they left a hole big enough
for Scott to go in and it closed up in the center of the corner. It was
a move I wouldve made if I had been there."
Holly, who wrecked his Chevrolet Monte Carlo six weeks ago and again two
weeks before in a massive wreck that left only five cars running in the
end, held the third place position for the first 48 laps with Sharpsburgs
Wayne Hansard finishing second.
"The car was certainly good tonight. It stayed with me all night,"
said Holly. Rounding out the top five were Jr. Hardy, Tony Durflinger
and Randy Bynum who returns to Senoia Speedway after an extended leave
of absence. Finishing sixth through tenth were Ricky Platt, Jacques Delannoy,
rookie Chad Caldwell who led the first 48 laps from his pole starting
position with Budweiser Pole Winner Scott Griffin coming in tenth.
Brooks Andy Cash led from start to finish in Saturday nights
Double Points, Double Money Sportsman Feature at Senoia Speedway for his
third consecutive win. A bounty has been placed by Senoia Speedway Management
for any driver who is able to defeat Cash in the next Sportsman Feature.
Jake Wallace returned to Senoia Speedway this night to finish second after
being involved in a first lap incident which caused him to start at the
rear of the field. Third place went to Darin Cronan with Tom Smith and
Mark Lore rounding out the top five in the Sportsman Division.
Hamptons Stan Barge visited victory lane for the first time this
season when he took the lead from Jason Turner just three laps into the
street stocks feature. Second place went to last weeks winner Robbie
Gober followed by Jason Turner, Ted Willingham, Mark Lore, and Donald
Bowen rounding out the field.
Gay Ga.s Troy French collected the bounty set on Cary Hamilton in
Saturday nights Mini Stock Race at Senoia Speedway. French took
the lead with 13 laps remaining to record his seventh win of the season.
Collin Rodman was awarded second place after Hamilton was disqualified
by track officials for having an illegal motor. Third place went to Darrell
Carlson with Dan Oxenford and Robbie Gober rounding out the top five.
Tallahassees Marc Mitchell took the lead just three laps into the
feature for the win in Saturday nights Pro and Semi Pro Masters
Legends Division for his seventh win of the season. Finishing a close
second was Doug Stevens followed by Shane Upchurch, Peter Boyer, and Lloyd
Wittenburg.
Senoias Scott Tinsley chalked up another win in Saturday nights
Young Lyons/Charger Legends race after destroying his car nearly a month
ago at Lanier Speedway. Tinsley took the lead with three laps remaining
when he passed second place finisher Joey Boyer for the win. In third
was Andy James with Cindy Anderson in fourth followed by last weeks
winner Bubba Pollard.
Wild and exciting Winged Outlaw Sprint Car Racing comes to Senoia Speedway
Saturday night August 12. The United Sprint Car Series (U.S.C.S.) "Outlaw
Thunder" Tour roars into the fast 3/8th mile asphalt oval-located
