United Way honors Pathway

Pathway Communities — the developer of Peachtree City in Fayette County, Avery Park and SummerGrove in Newnan and Monarch Village in Stockbridge — has been named “A Company That Cares” by the United Way.

“United Way honored Pathway Communities with this award because of the company's commitment to the community,” said Andrea Payne, United Way associate area director. “The combination of Pathway's leadership, financial support and volunteer spirit all contributed to being named `A Company That Cares.'”

Since 1987, Pathway Communities has raised more than $100,000 in funds for United Way and is also one of the highest contributors per employee in Fayette County. Pathway was also one of the first companies in Fayette County to match their employee's contributions.

“We appreciate all of the hard work and generous contributions Pathway Communities has made to United Way over the past 13 years,” concludes Payne. “But the real value of Pathway to the community exceeds any dollar amount..”

United Way funding in Fayette County provide services for early childhood development and school-age children through programs such as The Joseph Sams School, The Fayette Youth Protection Home and The FRIENDS Mentoring Program. There are an additional 17 agencies whose programs impact Fayette County residents funded by United Way contributions.
