Support our community – plan for Noel November celebration

By MARTHA HAYHURST
President
, Fayette County Board of REALTORSÆ

We hope you are already making plans to participate in this year's “Noel November - A Celebration of Trees and Wreaths,” the Fayette County Board of REALTORSÆ' largest fund-raising event each year.

As usual, proceeds from the event will go to worthy nonprofit organizations, and this year's recipients will be the Fayette County Schools' mentoring program, the Asden Johnson Youth Protection Home, and the Redwine Recreation Center.

I realize that it's still summer, and Noel November takes place during the Christmas season, but our board's Noel November committee has already been working for some time to make sure that this year's event, the sixth annual Noel November, will be an unqualified success. Once again heading the committee staging the event are co-chairs Terri Kellerman and Dave Edmondson.

We are asking all local organizations, businesses and individuals to include Noel November in their plans for the holiday season. The event itself is schedule for Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Redwine Recreation Center on Redwine Road.

During the day, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., there will be a showing of decorated Christmas trees and wreaths, as well as other holiday items, donated by local organizations, businesses and individuals.

That evening, beginning at 7 p.m., there will be an auction on the contributed items, as well as entertainment and an hors d'oeuvre buffet. Tickets to the evening event are priced at $10 each.

Noel November is an annual highlight of the holiday season in our community, and it's also provided needed funds for worthy local organizations. During the past four years, the event has brought in approximately $60,000 for local nonprofit groups.

(The Fayette County Board or REALTORSÆ is one of more than 1,800 local boards and associations of REALTORSÆ that comprise the National Association of REALTORSÆ.
