Picnic Park to be filled with wonderful sounds of Disney

Some of the most beloved music in our nation's great history comes from the same last name: Disney.

Songs like “When You Wish Upon A Star,” “Someday My Prince Will Come” and “Under the Sea” have enchanted audiences over the last 60 years and will likely continue to do so over the next 60 years.

The Peachtree Wind Ensemble Community Band understands the connection that people have with Disney songs and will play selections from the Disney catalog this Sunday at Picnic Park in Peachtree City.

The Peachtree Wind Ensemble Community Band is made up of community residents that play musical instruments and wish to continue performing. Formerly known as the Peachtree City Concert Band, the group welcomes new members. Musicians from throughout the Southern Crescent, including advanced students and ex-college, military and high school players are welcome to get back into playing and performing for the pure joy of it.

The group has weekly rehearsals Mondays 7:30-9 p.m., and performs eight to 10 concerts per year, plus community outreach programs at nursing homes and civic functions. For information on the Peachtree Wind Ensemble Community Band, phone 770-487-6687.

The show, a children's concert featuring music from Disney features, will be Sunday, Aug. 6 at 3 p.m at Picnic Park in Peachtree City.
