Sign-ups
for Big League Baseball have begun Sign-ups are now being taken for 16-, 17- and 18-year-olds for Big League Baseball in Fayette, Coweta, southern Clayton and Henry counties. Players must be 16 years old by July 31, 2001 and can be no older than 18 on July 31, 2001. Teams formed will be traveling teams and will play in Fayette, Coweta, Douglas and DeKalb counties. Plans are being made to include the Macon area for fall play. A minimum of 12 games will be scheduled to begin mid-September and run through the end of October. Games will be doubleheaders on Sundays at various locations. Players must provide their own transportation to and from practices and games. The Big League program just finished a successful spring and All Star season. Players for spring were from McIntosh, Starr's Mill, Fayette County, Pike County, East Coweta and Newnan high schools. Registrants must show certified copies of birth certificates and have legal proof of residency in one of the four counties. |
