Notables The following Fayetteville area students graduated from LaGrange College spring quarter: Nylsa Katherine Dunbar, bachelor of arts degree in theatre arts; Erin Jennifer Rawlins, bachelor of business administration; Spencer David King, bachelor of science degree in computer science; and Abby Suzanne Jimmerson, bachelor of science in nursing. Kimberly Elaine Johnson, daughter of Mike and Elaine Johnson of Peachtree City, was one of 15 students recently inducted into the Honor Society of Pi Kappa Phi at Valdosta State University. Inductees must have reached the final period of their junior year and be in the upper 5 percent of their class with a GPA of at least 3.85 and be nominated and voted on by faculty members of the society. Johnson was also recently inducted into Alpha Chi Honor Society for outstanding achievement. membership in Alpha Chi is one of the highest academic honors which may be bestowed upon a student at VSU. She is a 1997 honor graduate of McIntosh High School and currently attends Valdosta State University majoring in early childhood education. She is a member of Alpha lambda Delta Honorary Fraternity and the Dean's list. Randall L. Peters, president of Heart of GeorgiaTechnical Institute, is pleased to recognize and congratulate Kevin Watkiss of Fayettevillefor being named to the President's List for spring quarter. A student must earn a 3.64 or higher grade point average for the quarter. Jennifer Johansons, Fayetteville, has been awarded the Rebecca Yates Riley Scholarship award from the Gordon College Foundation to attend the two-year college in Barnesville. Johansons is a graduate of Fayette County high School and is the daughter of Linda and Juris Johansons. Geoffrey George Paul was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude at Bowdoin College during its 195 Commencement Exercises. Paul, a history major, is a graduate of Fayette County High School. Michael J. Lee of Peachtree City, a student in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), was named tothe Dean's list for the spring 2000 term.
