Having just completed the most successful production in its history, Fayette Community Theatre Inc. is searching for a young, talented miss to fill the role of Annie in its upcoming production of the Broadway musical “Annie.”

“We know she is out there and she is the perfect youngster to fill this demanding role,” said director Eileen Baldwin. “The youngster we are looking for needs to be between the ages of 8 and 13, have a strong singing voice, the ability to dance and be a good actress as well. Gymnastic ability will be a plus.”

The lucky young lady chosen to play Annie will join 12 other girls between 8 and 13 who are neeeded to play orphans in the production. Auditions for all youngsters will be Wednesday, Aug. 2 and Thursday, Aug. 3 from 6-8 p.m. in the band room of the LaFayette Education Center (old Fayette High).

Each child is required to have a strong singing voice and will be required to sing 20 measures of “Tomorrow.” Show choreographer Jonsie Pollock will teach them to dance on site, while musical director Millie Turek will provide accompaniment.

“Annie” also requires a cast of 22 adult men and women 14 and older. Auditons for these roles will be from 8 - 10 p.m. Aug. 2 and 3. Adults will be asked to sing 20 measures of a song of their choice, not necessarily from the show. Adults may bring sheet music or a back up musical rendition tape. If a tape is used, it must not contain any vocal rendition. A dance will be taught on site to all adults, though not all roles will require dancing.

Call backs for all roles will be Aug. 4. “Annie” is slated for production at Sams Audtorium in Fayetteville Oct. 5-8 and 13-15. Additional information can be found at http://geocities.com/gofct or by e-mail to Faycomthtr@aol.com.
