David Werner competed in the 29th Florida Junior Invitational Golf Championship held at the Mission Inn Golf & Tennis resort, in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida on July 18,19,& 20. Werner, a 16 year old student at McIntosh High School shot a 54 hole total of 241.

The tournament field included some of the countries best junior players aging from 12 to 18 years of age. Players came from as far away as Hawaii to compete in what is one of the countries oldest junior invitational tournaments.

The Fayette Epee Fencing Team took the state championships again at the Georgia State Games. the team is made up of Eric Devlin, Pete Appel and Scott Seaman. The Fayette Fencers, made up of Eric Devlin, Scott Seaman and Daniel Cooper, also took first place in the Epee' team event.

At the women's Epee event, Samantha Humphrey took second place and Rachel Stewart placed third.
