With unwanted PTC growth, Meriwether looks real good

Peachtree City doesn't need a Super Wal-Mart or a Home Depot, for that matter. One can go 15 miles in two directions and find both of them.

I have lived in “bucolic” Peachtree City for 10 years and it saddens me to see the rezoning signs on Ga. highways 74 and 54 to business or light industrial. This area has a special charm that is slowly, but surely, being destroyed by the greed of commercial development and real estate agents. It's not needed or desired.

I am saddened that the [city] government and the Peachtree City Planning Commission have sold their souls to the money grubbers.

Pike or Meriwether counties are starting to look real good.

It would be a real shame for highways 74/54 to turn into the equivalent of Ga. Highway 400 in north Atlanta.
