Braelinn
businesses help out the school The Braelinn Village shopping center contributed more than $1,750 to area schools last year through an innovative program. Called It's elementary, the program tracked sales from Braelinn Village receipts that were submitted by shoppers from three elementary schools. Students, families and educators from Braelinn, Huddleston and Oak Grove Elementary shopped at Braelinn and dropped their receipts into drop boxes. Braelinn Elementary received $1,000 for the most receipts, while Huddleston received $500 for second place and Oak Grove received $250. Regency Realty, the company that owns Braelinn Village, decided to embark on this program in an effort to provide much-needed funds to the local schools. Most of the school fundraisers wind up being paid for by parents and other family members, said LaVonna Paradise, manager of Center Marketing for Regency Realty. This program reaches the entire community and makes residents feel good about doing their shopping locally because it supports the schools in their neighborhood. |
