Racers keep their winning traditions alive at Senoia Speedway

Tallahassee's Marc Mitchell captured his fifth win as he moved around Gabriel Corbitt with 19 laps remaining in Saturday night's Alan Vigil Southlake Ford 50 Late Model feature.

This was Mitchell's second consecutive win at Senoia Speedway. Finishing second in his best finish so far this season was Fayetteville's Shawn Cieutat. Cieutat started from his outside pole position and led until lap 12, when Gabriel Corbitt passed him. Corbitt led until lap 31 and finished third while Senoia's Chad Caldwell finished fourth.

Brooks' Andy Cash and Senoia's John Bell switched positions from last week as they finished first and second in the Sportsman division. This week was Cash's turn when he took the lead from the drop of the flag and led every lap with Bell finishing second. Third place went to another Brooks native, Mike Jenkins, with Larry Pierce finishing fourth. Darin Cronan of Cummings, a newcomer to Senoia Speedway, finished fifth.

Senoia's Mark Lore recorded his second win of the season in the Street Stock division as he led from the drop of the green flag holding off the late charge of the second place car and last week's winner, Jason Turner of Griffin. Turner bumped his way around the third place finisher of Fayetteville's Mike Steffens. Finishing fourth was Ted Willingham of Senoia with Bubba Bales finishing fifth.

Jonesboro's Cary Hamilton grabbed his third win in a row in the Mini Stock division. This brings Hamilton to five wins for the season as he passed second place finisher Troy French with 12 laps remaining in the feature. Finishing third was Fayetteville's Darrell Carlson with fourth place going to Arthur Jordon who passed for the position with seven laps remaining. Coming in fifth driving the Hooters/MVP Sports car was James Wate from Newnan.

A bounty of $300 has been placed on Cary Hamilton by the management of Senoia Speedway for Hamilton's three consecutive wins.

Senoia's Bubba Pollard earned his fifth win of the season when he went flag to flag in Saturday night's double points, double money, Conkles Young Lyons/Chargers Legends event. Following Pollard across the start/finish line was Newnan's Emily Cone, who maintained the position throughout the event. Third place went to Andy James, who achieved that position on the final lap when Brandon Brilliant made contact with Cone.

Cone held her position while Brilliant slid up the track, giving him a fourth place finish. The fifth place finish went to Clint Hancoch rounding out the top five.
