Bost broke Sunshine Law in 1999

While I will forever protect your right to express your opinions verbally or in print, I must express concern for at least one of your pro votes as named in the July 12, 2000, edition of The Citizen.

You intend to vote for Harold Bost for reelection as one of our county commissioners and state that he is “honest.”

May I remind you that Bost and the other four sitting commissioners are admitted lawbreakers, namely OCGA 50-14-1 through 6, commonly referred to as the “Sunshine Law.”

Their ignorance of the law, if it was that, is no excuse, and all should have resigned immediately after this infraction in March 1999. Failure to resign should have been met with action by Solicitor Steve Harris, but none was taken.

Further, by the breaking of this law, they are subject to OCGA 45-10-1 through 5, Code of Ethics for Government Service, that provides for their removal from office by the governor of Georgia if found guilty after a proper hearing.

Due to the violation in 1999, their honesty will always remain questionable. I do not support lawbreakers, especially in public office, and will vote against them every time.
