Please
slow down in PTC residential subdivisions I live at the corner of Shirewood Park and Kedron Drive in Peachtree City. On Tuesday night, July 11, around 10:30 p.m. I heard a big boom outside my bedroom wall and told my husband that it sounded like someone hit our house. We went outside and saw one of the worst car accidents we have ever seen. It appeared to be two boys in a car hit a tree head on. I was told later by someone that the car was going 80 miles an hour around the curve. I know one boy died. The speed limit around the curve is 25 miles an hour, 30 miles an hour on the rest of Kedron Drive. How can we get everyone to slow down on our side streets? There is many a time I come to our corner of Shirewood Park and Kedron Drive, look both ways on Kedron and no cars are coming, pull out, turn left on Kedron and look in the rear view mirror only to see someone right on my bumper. It scares me to death. Maybe the cross that the kids have put against the tree will help for a short time, but what happens when it gone? Will people go back to their 50 to 60 miles an hour around the curve? I hope not. If people don't slow down here, someone in the Shirewood Park subdivision will get killed from someone coming around the curve way too fast. I know there are other places in Peachtree City that have big curves and a sign is posted at 20 or 25 also. So, please, please, say something to your readers about people slowing down to the speed limit posted. Kathy Howell
