Use
a Spitfire to catch the big splash Spitfire -- The big splash bait If you're a die hard bass angler and love to fish with top-water chugger type baits then the new Spitfire should be in your tackle box. The Spitfire is by far one of the most effective new top-water lures made available to all anglers by Bill Lewis Lures, the makers of the original Rat-L-Trap. The Spitfire has a unique bucket-mouth that splashes and sprays water in front of the lure as you work it along the surface. This spraying action, combined with the famous Rat-L-Trap sound chamber drives fish to impulsively strike the lure around cover or structure such as grass (submerged or emerged) and rocks (riprap, rocky bluffs, and points). For a more life-like appearance the Spitfire comes with a tie-wrapped buck tail on the rear hook. It is available in a three-eighth ounce size and comes in eight fish-catching colors. The lure casts like a Rat-L-Trap and can be fished in more ways than one.By changing the position of your rod trip, you can alter the lures retrieve. By positoning your rod tip at a 4 or 5 o'clock position the Spitfire can be worked like a shad skipping and spraying water along the surface of the water. To fish the Spitfire properly, I recommend that you use a bait cast reel spooled with a 15 to 20 pound test line on a 6 1/2 foot medium to medium light trigger style bait cast rod. Try this new lure and you'll catch a lot more fish. Good
