New singles group starting at FUMC

Singles in the community age 35-55 are invited to join a new singles group forming at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. The group plans to schedule dinners, trips, movies, book studies and other types of fellowship. An organizational meeting is planned for this evening, July 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. McFolks plan summer salad luncheon Thursday

The McFolks seniors group at McDonough Road Baptist Church will have a summer salad luncheon tomorrow, July 13, in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Everyone is asked to bring a salad and/or summer food. For more information, call the church at 770-460-5423.

Zion Lutheran offers Parents' Night Out

Parent volunteers of Zion Lutheran Church in Newnan will offer a Parents' Night Out on Friday, July 14, from 6:30-10:30 p.m., giving adults the opportunity to have some time for themselves while their children participate in age-appropriate activities and games. Registration is required one week in advance and there is a fee of $5 per family to cover the cost of snacks. All diapers, wipes, formula and other necessary items must be labeled with the child's name and provided by the families. The church is at 53 Country Club Rd. in Newnan. Friday Club kids head for Stone Mountain

The Friday Club at Providence United Methodist Church, for children in kindergarten through third grade, will travel to Stone Mountain Park this Friday, July 14. Those planning to attend are asked to meet at the church at 9 a.m. and bring a sack lunch. The group will return at 3 p.m. The cost is $15. Abundant Life sets Youth Rally this Saturday

All youth in the community are invited to a “Shout to Jesus” youth rally at Abundant Life Worship Center in Tyrone this Saturday, July 15, at 7 p.m. Live music will be provided by “Gig” and “Without Knowing.” Special guest speaker will be Antipus Harris. Blood drive at FUMC is this Sunday

FUMC's Third Thursday group to visit Andersonville

The Third Thursday group at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, adults age 55 and older, will take a trip to the Andersonville National Historic Site in Andersonville on Thursday, July 20. The group will leave the church parking lot at 8 a.m. and return at approximately 6 p.m. Newcomers are welcome and there is no cost for the trip.
