Silverbacks
and Classics to play in doubleheader tonight By
MICHAEL BOYLAN The Atlanta Silverbacks are on a roll. The team faced the Raleigh Capital Express last Saturday evening and won by a score of 4-1. The two teams were tied at 1 at the half, but Atlanta benefitted from a hat trick from Patrick Beech and captured their second win in as many games. It was their second consecutive win over Raleigh this season. Atlanta improved their record to 8-5-2 and remain in second place in the Atlantic division of the Eastern Conference. There will be a lot of soccer action at Dekalb Memorial Stadium this Friday night. The Atlanta Classics (5-2-1) will face the Northern Virginia Majestics at 5:30 p.m. and the Silverbacks will follow, as they host the Hampton Roads Mariners at 7:30 p.m. Atlanta tied Hapmpton Roads in their last meeting on June 18. Dekalb Memorial Stadium will also be the site of the Copa Brito finals at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Admission for the matches are free.
