Cookies and Cream has opened its doors for business and is hoping all of Peachtree City's ice cream lovers will stop by and sample their fare.

The store is located in the Peachtree Marketplace shopping center, just off Ga. Highway 74 behind Chili's restaurant.

Peachtree City residents Martin and Brenda Folk own the store and searched nine months for a location.

“Brenda and I are very happy with the store's location. We hope to develop a large dessert business from all of the restaurants in the area,” said Folk.

The store features Edy's ice cream and gourmet cookies and one of the store's specialties is a ice cream sandwich made with the cookies and ice cream.

The store also makes decorated cookies.

“The decorated cookies are a good change from the traditional cakes served for birthdays and special events. We have talked with many area residents and found that there is a large market for a high quality reasonably priced decorated cookie. The products that we serve meet that demand,” said Martin Folk.

The Folks have lived in Peachtree City for seven years. They also own the Microplay Video Games store in Peachtree City and Brenda Folk is a teacher at Oak Grove Elementary School.
