It is true that it is never too early to start planning for next season. The Starr's Mill boys basketball team is attending three basketball camps this summer in order to build off of last year's successes. The camps they have attended have been in Lovejoy, at Clayton College and State University and the University of Georgia.

The team should also get a boost from the new junior varsity coach at Starr's Mill, Lonnie Farmer. farmer recently moved to the area from Wilson, North Carolina. He will teach physical education at Brooks Elementary on top of his duties with the junior varsity Panthers. Farmer attended East Carolina University, played on their basketball team as a freshman, and graduated with a degree in Exercise Sports Science.

Farmer has a lot of family in the area and is looking forward to being closer to them. He is engaged to marry Tequila Henderson and is planning on an August wedding. Farmer has already worked extensively with the junior varsity and varsity teams and will be a welcome addition to the Panther basketball program.
