FCHS Tigers offer basketball camp for kids

The Fayette County High School basketball team will host its second session of the Fayette Tiger Basketball camp July 10-14.

Proceeds will go to support the basketball program at Fayette County High School.

“The first session of our camp was one of the best we have ever had,” Coach Keith Louthan reports. “The campers showed great enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.”

The camp is designed to teach fundamentals and a love for the game of basketball through drills, individual instruction and team-oriented competition. The day camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, culminating with Family Day Friday, 9 a.m. to noon.

“Family Day has been a big hit with the campers as we put family members and volunteers through the pace of a typical day,” explains Louthan.

The camp staff consists of Andre Flynn and Brent Jackson, both assistant coaches at Fayette County High School, many former players and current Fayette County Tigers from the boys and girls teams. “We always work hard to make the week special for each camper,” says David Chambers of the Tigers.

There is still room for additional campers for the July 10-14 camp. Phone FCHS at 770-460-3540 or Louthan at 770-719-8961.
