Silverbacks bounce back against El Paso, win rematch

The Atlanta Silverbacks are definitely going places.

Last week the team faced the oldest and most experienced team in the A-League, the El Paso Patriots, and lost a heartbreaker. When they hosted the Patriots on Saturday night, they blew them out.

The Silverbacks won by a score of 7-2, getting multiple goals from Josh Henderson and Patrick Beech. Henderson had three goals on the night, two of them coming within a minute of each other. The Silverbacks also got a goal from Alex Bahr, who recently re-signed with the team. Bahr is from Honduras and has played with Independiente Honduras, the Atlanta Ruckus and the Silverbacks before. Jacenir Silva also scored.

Atlanta had a 7-0 lead with 20 minutes to go before El Paso got on the board. It was the worst lost handed to the Patriots all season and it was the biggest win all season for the Silverbacks. Obviously, the defense handled the Patriots well, learning how to slow down ad stop the El paso's experienced offense.

Atlanta will be at home again on July 8 to face the Hampton Roads mariners at 7:30 p.m. The Atlanta Classics, Atlanta's W-League team, will face the Northern virginai Majestics at 5:30 p.m. All home games are played at DeKalb Memorial Stadium. For tickets, either call 770-TRYFOOT or visit the teams on the web at www.atlantasilverbacks.comor www.atlantaclassics.com.
