'Food for the Poor' rep will be guest speaker at Nativity July 2

Episcopal Church of the Nativity will welcome The Rev. Richard L. Southworth on Sunday, July 2 at the 10:30 a.m. service. Rev. Southworth will speak on behalf of “Food for the Poor,” an interdenominational Christian ministry created to help the poorest of the poor in the Caribbean and Latin America.

In addition to serving the suffering and needy, Food for the Poor's ministry also creates an important link between the church of the First World and the church of the Third World.

“Members of Nativity include Anglican Christians from the Church in the West Indies, including Jamaica, Trinidad and Antigua”, says The Rev. Bob Hudak, Vicar of Nativity. “Christ asks us to reach out to our neighbors in need. As we try to grow in our commitment locally to serve the ministry of the Fayette Samaritans, so too are we called to open our eyes and hearts globally to our sisters and brothers in other places.”

The Church of the Nativity is part of the 92 parishes in the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta and a member of the world-wide Anglican Communion. The church is located at 130 Antioch Road in Fayetteville.

For more information, call the parish office at 770-460-6390.
