Christian Comedian Keith Deltano to perform at Crossroads singles spot

The Gathering Grounds Coffeehouse for young single adults will present Christian comedian Keith Deltano in a performance scheduled for Friday, July 7 at 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is $5.

He will perform his show, “Singular Obsession,” a performance and unique comedy especially designed for the single adult.

Traveling over the United States as a Christian comedian, Deltano says he strives to shed some light and God's word on today's tough issues. Not wanting to be interpreted as a typical stand-up comedian, he says he combines humor, audience interaction, props, and scripture into action-filled performances. Each of his shows deals with various issues such as racism, judging, sexual abstinence until marriage, substance abuse, and also marriage itself.

“There are so many problems in today's society and I believe God is the answer,” Keith says. “Unfortunately, a lot of people think that God is boring. So I decided to combine humor with God's message to show that God is anything but boring. Humor breaks down people's defenses and opens them up to listen,” he adds.

His show, “Singular Obsession,” is not to poke fun at the single lifestyle, but to laugh at society's view of those who are not following the “right track” of being married with 2.5 kids and a minivan. As keith states, “Just because a person is over 30 and not married does not mean they are someone to pity and they should not pity themselves, for that matter. God has a plan for their life where they are right now, and that is what i point out in “Singular Obsession.”

The Gathering Grounds Coffeehouse offers a new place for singles, with entertainment, coffee and a dessert bar. It is open the first Friday of each month at Crossroads Church on Ga. Hwy. 154 near Thomas Crossroads Shopping Center between Newnan and Peachtree City.
