Inman Methodist to celebrate opening of new educational facility with dedication barbecue

Members of Inman United Methodist church will celebrate the official opening of their new 10,000 sq. ft. educational facility with a special service and old-fashioned barbecue on Sunday, July 16. “It has been a long time coming, but our dreams and prayers have now become a reality,” a spokesperson said.

The consecration service will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by the official opening of the new facility. The service will feature a number of special guests, including Dr. Donald Harp, Jr., Senior Pastor of the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, who will bring the message. Dr. Harp is a native of Inman and a former member of the Inman UMC congregation.

Also, Dr. David Naglee, the newly appointed District Superintendent of the LaGrange District of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church, will be on hand to take part in the service.

A number of former pastors also will be in attendance including the Rev. Robert Partridge and Dr. David Campbell.

After the service, there will be a ceremony to officially open the building, followed by an afternoon of barbecue and Brunswick stew, live music, games, cold drinks and watermelon.
