Notables Katrina James and Michelle Elizabeth Pitts of Fayetteville and Benjamin Robert Tigner of Peachtree City graduated from Kennesaw State University with Bachelor of Science degrees. Mark Thomas Anderson of Peachtree City and Robert Timothy Tisdale of Fayetteville received degrees during Reinhardt College's 116th commencement recently. Anderson received a bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies, while Tisdale received a bachelor of science degree in biology. Kenneth T. Hamner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamner of Fayetteville, made the Dean's list at Furman University for the spring semester. Chimaobi Izeogu, son of Amaechi Izeogu of Fayetteville, was named to the honor roll at Phillips Academy. Papa John's Pizza restaurants in Fayetteville awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Jasmine Black. Black was a student at Fayette County high School and plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall. Black was active in a number of organizations including Spanish Club and Students Against drunk Driving. She was also captain of the swim team, a lieutenant with the marching band, a tutor at fayette Elementary School and an exemplary student. Black was named to Who's Who Among American High School Students four times, was Student of the Month twice and was a Governor's Honor Program nominee. The following students were awarded scholarships from Atlanta Christian College. Eddy sanders won the Melvin Lee Clay Scholarship, which provides full tuition tomthe University for one year. Jason Burchfield, Bryan Levangie, Joseph Morgan and Jordan Welson each received the Kenneth and Dorothy Daugherty Scholarship. The scholarship is for $4,500 to each student seeking a career in the ministry. Samantha Grenier, Caroline Creel, Sara Corazzini and Melanie Jeffords of Fayetteville and Audrey Ewen of Tyrone were honored at a Girl Scout Silver and Gold Award Ceremony recently. Grenier has been active with the girl scouts for five years while Creel has been active for 10. they are both students at Starr's Mill High School. Corazzini, a student at Fayette County High School, has been involved in scouting for seven years. Jeffords has been involved with the girl scouts for nine years while Ewn has been involved for seven years, They both attend Sandy Creek High School. Melissa Wheeler of Tyrone has been recognized for academic achievement as a United States National Honor Roll Award winner. Wheeler attends Flat Rock Middle School and will appear in the United Styates Achievemet Academy Official yearbook, which is published nationally. She is the daughter of Joseph and Irene Wheeler of Tyrone. Anna Nix of Peachtree City was named to the spring semester merit list at Brenau University. Merit list students must maintain a 3.5 grade point average while carrying 12-14 hours of course work. Gavin Trinoskey, son of Chuck and Lynn Trinoskey of Fayetteville, has been named to the Dean's List for spring quarter at Georgia Institiute of Technology. he has maintained a 4.0 grade point average and is presently involved in a summer internship at Photocircuits in Peachtree City. he is a mechanical engineering major. Bradley Kendrick Bingham of Fayettevlle and Walter Cade Metz of Peachtree City were named to the Dean's Listat Union University. Janet V. Gorrell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Gorrell of Fairburn, was a double degree graduate at Furman University. Gorrell earned a degree in religion and a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Thomas M. Woodham, son of Mr. and Mrs. JohnH. Woodham of Fayetteville, double majored in computer science and computer science mathematics and received a Bachelor of science degree from Furman University.
