For the second time in three years, the Georgia State Panthers swept the Trans America Athletic Conference All-Sports Trophies. They won a combined five sports titles of the 14 total sports, with three NCAA postseason berths. The school could not have reached those marks without the contributions of Fayette County athletes.

The Panther baseball team was perhaps the most successful. The team set a record with 31 wins this season, defeating several ranked teams including Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia. Former McIntosh student Ryan Patrylo led the baseball team with an 8-4 record and 82 strikeouts. His first win of the season came against Georgia Tech, ranked number one in the nation at that point. Bryan McCartney, a former Fayette County High School student, hit .295 for the Panthers, while Jay Fields, a former Sandy Creek student, hit .294.

The Lady Panthers soccer team posted their fourth consecutive winning season with a 10-8-1 mark. The team placed second in the regular season and third in the tournament. Erica Leicher, a former McIntosh student, was a part of the winning team.

Andrew and Walter Valesky, also two former McIntosh students, played on the Georgia State men's soccer team. The Panthers finished with a 6-11-1 overall record as the team fought to overcome a multitude of injuries and a difficult schedule.

The Lady Panthers tennis team advanced to the finals of the TAAc tournament after a 4-1 regular season. Ramsey Roberts, of Peachtree City, was a a member of the team.
