St. Peter A.M.E. to dedicate new 17,000 sq. ft. sanctuary

Members of historic Greater St. Peter A.M.E. Church at River's Edge will hold a dedication celebration of their newly erected building in Jonesboro this Sunday, June 25 at 3 p.m. A reception will follow the dedication.

“Since 1913, Greater St. Peter has been a supportive component of the Metro Atlanta community,” a spokesperson said.

In 1998, under the leadership of Rev. Isaiah J. Waddy, the church moved from its location on Highland Avenue in Atlanta to the present location on Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro. This Sunday, members will move once again to their new, 17,000 sq. ft. building on Fayetteville Rd. in Jonesboro.

“We are very thankful for the blessing God has bestowed upon the Greater St. Peter family as well as the greater Clayton and Fayette county communities,” said Pastor Waddy. “As we continue to move from membership to discipleship, our congregation continues to grow numerically, but most importantly, we are developing spiritually.”

The new building is located at 9540 Fayetteville Rd. For more information about St. Peter A.M.E., call 770-210-4100.
