New A.M.E. church holding services at Fayette Elementary

Rivers of Life Community Church, a new A.M.E. ministry, is now holding services at Fayette Elementary School each Sunday at 10 a.m. Rev. Andrew J. Young, II, is the teacher, pastor and founder. The name, “Rivers of Life,” is taken from John 7:37-39.

“We are an outreach and teaching ministry where everyone is welcome and new ideas are encouraged,” a spokesperson said. “Our membership consists of committed, loving friends, neighbors and colleagues new to the Fayette Community. We seek genuine relationships with the Creator and the created through better understanding and application of the Word of God.”

The congregation meets in the gymnasium of Fayette Elementary School-Primary behind Fayette County High School on Hood Avenue. A pot-luck dinner is held following worship services each Sunday.
