Fayette County does offer a choice of baseball programs

After reading an article in this week's Citizen regarding youth baseball, I feel an obligation to point out to the citizens of Fayette County that there are choices in youth baseball programs locally.

There are two main programs in the county: Little League and AABC. Peachtree City Little League, American and National, covers the western section of the county, including Fayetteville. Any child, boy or girl, in Fayette County may play in one of these Little League programs. The east-west dividing line for the two programs is White Water Creek.

To my knowledge, the AABC program also takes all players in Fayette County, with fields in Fayetteville and Tyrone.

Each program, Little League and AABC, has a set of organizational rules it must follow. They each play “baseball” but they do differ on some of their philosophies, organization, and rules.

Youth sports is definitely an area in which it is great to have a choice: not every program is right for every child/family. For more information, contact your local Recreation Department for a contact name and number.
