Fayette remodelers building good reputation

As a company, M Cubed Building Services (M3) might be only a couple of months old, but many people and businesses in this area were already aware of the quality work produced by representatives of the remodeling firm.

Dave Marvin, one of the principals of M3, moved to Peachtree City in 1991 and became affiliated with FitzGerald & Sons, a family-owned plumbing company operated by his uncle and cousins. For the first three years, Marvin, an unrestricted licensed plumber, supervised plumbing crews engaged in a variety of jobs.

He became supervisor at FitzGerald in 1994. During this period, Marvin found himself involved not only in plumbing work, but also in restoration in situations where his workers had to go into walls to stop leaks, make repairs, and replace piping.

In 1996, FitzGerald extended its plumbing services into remodeling, including bathroom and kitchen renovations, and Marvin found himself directly involved in this type of work. A design center was added in fall of 1999.

In the meantime, Marvin's brother-in-law Todd Melzer had come to work for FitzGerald. A member of a home-building family on Long Island, NY, Melzer began working for his father at Rainbow Properties Inc., gaining experience over 12 years in concrete work, framing, cabinetry, electrical and tile work in the custom home and remodeling industry.

In March of this year, the decision was made by Marvin and Melzer to spin off the remodeling operation into a full-fledged remodeling company, M3 Building Services.

“We're a family owned and operated business,” said Marvin. “We take pride in our workmanship and our attention to detail. We offer a two-year warranty on all our work performed at the customer's home, and we also offer free estimates.”

Marvin emphasized that the same quality products found in a customer's home are utilized in M3's remodeling work. “Our skilled workers are courteous, and they maintain a clean work area,” he said. “To us, customer satisfaction is the key element to a success business.”

The company also works with commercial, industrial and institutional customers.

Melzer added that the company's services are “unlimited” when it comes to creating a “dream” kitchen, bathroom or even finishing out basements.

“Our design center gives our customers an ideal place where they can select samples of granite, marble and tile; select colors, patterns and shapes; and determine heights, widths and distance between items,” he said.

M3 can also handle putting in screened-in porches, window and door replacement, and is currently finishing out a bonus room in a Griffin home. In addition, it is a licensed plumbing contractor.

Customers of the company confirm that M3 has been successful in reaching these goals. James Cannon of Jonesboro said he hired another company to put in cabinets in a den bathroom.

“That company had to tear out the wall to make the cabinets fit, and I got M3 to come in a repair the damage,” he said. “They didn't rush, took their time with the job, and when they had finished, you couldn't tell that the wall had been damaged.”

Jean Shealy of Fayetteville said that a cultured marble jacuzzi tub in her home had cracked during the winter. “M3 replaced the damaged tub, and their workers left everything as if nothing had happened,” she said.” They were courteous, respectful and easy to work with.”

Taylor Kinnett of Griffin said he hired M3 to remodel a bathroom and fix damage below the bath after a leak in a shower drain. He praised the remodeling company's work in installing a simulated granite shower with a steam unit, putting in a slate tile floor and granite vanities, and fixing the damage in the basement.

Allyn Schultz of Peachtree City had the company pull out an old tub and the tile in a bathroom and replace it with a cultured marble walk-in shower.

“I was delighted with the work,” she said. “The workers were very professional and friendly, and I was very comfortable with their being in the house when I wasn't there.”

Current work for M3 includes projects in Peachtree City, Fayetteville, Griffin, Sharpsburg, and Newnan, and the company has also done work in Clayton County, Pike County and in Atlanta.

The M3 offices, including the design center, can be found at 103 Auburn Court, Suite 5, in Peachtree City. The telephone number is 770-631-3188, and more information about the company can be obtained on the Internet at www.mcubedbuildingservices.com.
