Paper was right to print photo of starving dog

In response to the person whose breakfast was disturbed by the photo of the starving puppy, I agree, it is something that no one should have to see.

Unfortunately, I also believe it is absolutely necessary as a possible wake-up call for people who feel no empathy for the suffering of others.

Just as we are permitted to view the atrocities of the Holocaust, I believe we should be permitted to publish photos/videos of a baby being killed by abortion, and especially partial-birth abortion. After all, they are only surgical procedures, like any other, right?

If pictures don't make a difference, why would pro-abortionists object so vehemently to publishing the photograph of baby Samuel's fingers reaching out from the womb for the surgeon's hand? The same surgeon who was trying to help Samuel, not kill him.

A picture is worth a thousand words, because it touches and changes hearts — just ask the formerly pro-abortion photographer who took Samuel's picture.

Until there are no more abused animals, abused children or abortions, the photos should be published. Most of us need to be shocked from our complacency by the reality of others' pain.

Maybe it will change minds and maybe it will cause others who are passive to get involved. Maybe we need our breakfast disturbed more often.
