Law made into sausage in Judge Caldwell's court

We have an opportunity to remove yet another of the “good old boys” from power in our community. In his decision to give seven-tenths of an acre of my land to the county, [Fayette Superior Court Judge] Johnnie Caldwell showed me and our community his true colors.

With ties to the county power structure, how likely was Caldwell to logically view the evidence, listen to what citizens of the community had to say, read and understand the intent that had been made over 100 years ago and rule in our favor? Now we are getting a gigantic water tower on the property taken from us!

Mark Twain once said, “Two things man should never see being made, sausage and laws.” Well, I saw the law made into sausage in Mr. Caldwell's courtroom.

Many of us don't have the time necessary to find out what is going on because we are trying to make a living. That's what these guys who sit in power know. The only way we find out how things really work is when they gang up and come after us. Apathy is the incumbent's best friend!

This election, try voting for the folks who honestly want to change the status quo. John Mrosek is one. He is not “beholding” to the existing power structure of county and city attorneys, councilmen, commissioners, real estate brokers and developers. He is a bright, energetic young man fed up with watching the inner workings of the system.

Many of our candidates have a hurdle to clear because so many voters simply don't know how this county runs and who runs it. But if enough of us understand, maybe we can make a difference at the polls. Please give John Mrosek your consideration as superior court judge.
