“Weigh Down” classes start at PTCUMC May 24

Summer sessions of the “Weigh Down” Biblical weight control classes are scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 24, at 9:30 a.m. at the Peachtree City United Methodist Church. Griffin Southern Gospel music concert is Saturday

The Downtown Griffin Flea Market will host a free Gospel music concert this Saturday at 2 p.m. Featured will be the group, “We Are The Faithful Servants.” The location is two blocks from the Griffin Courthouse next to the Griffin Daily News.

Senoia's Open Door Baptist to host Gospel Concert

Open Door Baptist Church in Senoia will host a Gospel Concert featuring Karen Peck & New River and Second Coming on Sunday, June 4 at 6 p.m. The doors will open at 5 p.m. A love offering will be accepted. Open Door Baptist is on Ga. Hwy. 16.

McDonough Rd. members to honor David Smith

In appreciation of Minister of Education David Smith's 15 years of service to McDonough Road Baptist Church, members will honor Smith at a “Dinner on the Grounds,” Sunday, May 28, following the morning worship service. Members attending are asked to bring a covered dish and a dessert to share.

“Contagious Christian” classes offered at PTC UMC

Peachtree City United Methodist Church will offer a 10-week course entitled “Contagious Christians” beginning Monday, June 5 and continuing through Aug. 14. The course is designed to help everyday Christians effectively practice their faith. National Heights to offer evening study classes

On Wednesday evenings beginning June 7, Margaret Clarke will offer a study on “That's What the Man Said—The Sayings of Jesus,” at National Heights Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Holly Grove A.M.E. sets 103rd anniversary activities

Holly Grove A.M.E. Church in Peachtree City will celebrate 103 years of service to the community with special activities planned for Sunday, June 4, at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Alexander D. Hamilton, VI, president of the Coalition for Young Black Ministers. Holly Grove was established in 1897 and is the only church in Fayette County with an official road marker from the National Trust for Historical Preservation. Fayetteville First UMC's family picnic is June 4

Members of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will have their annual church-wide picnic on Sunday, June 4, from 4-7 p.m. at the J.W. Smith Recreation Area in south Fayette County. Those planning to attend are asked to bring blankets, chairs and a “pot luck” picnic dinner for sharing. The church will provide drinks, paper plates and plastic utensils. `Spirit Bound' to present musical at Christ Our Hope

Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church will host the musical group “Spirit Bound,” from Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Apple Valley, Minn., in a performance of “Embracing Grace,” Sunday, June 18, at both worship services. The group is composed of 65 youth and adults. The Sunday performances will be preceded by a potluck supper Saturday evening.
