Spring is in the air. The flowers and trees are blooming and the sun is shining brightly.

This is a perfect setting for the fifth annual Music on Main Street Concert in downtown Fayetteville. Another free concert — courtesy of the Main Street Fayetteville Patrons — takes place Saturday, May 20 featuring the hardest working band in soul music, Terry Lee and the GT's.

Terry Lee and The GT's will take the stage at 7 p.m. A dynamic stage show, exceptional musicianship, and custom-made costumes all combine to create the most authentic performance of soul, Motown and Beach found anywhere. The band's goal is to have fun and share their enthusiasm with their audiences. Their performances are energetic, unique and, most of all, danceable. The GT's genuinely love performing and won't be satisfied until the dance floor is packed.

As always, the public is encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to rest comfortably on the lawn and enjoy the entertainment. There will be no reserved seating except for tables for Main Street Fayetteville patrons. They include: McRae Communications, Fayette Community Hospital, McNally, Fox and Cameron, First Citizens Bank, J&L Petroleum Marketing Inc., Fayette Promenade LLC, Fayette Daily News, Guthrie Development Corp., Leslie Contracting, Lane Brown Properties, Inc., Kiwanis Club of Fayette County, Rotary Club of Fayetteville, Hollingsworth Landscaping Inc., The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Fayette Citizen Newspapers, RCS Productions, Scarbrough and Rolader Development, Children's Hospital of Atlanta, Arby's, Coca-Cola, Southeast Properties Inc., Coweta-Fayette EMC, and Kent Rose.

Music on Main Street will coincide with the Old Courthouse Art Show, which features artists from around the country exhibiting their work around Fayetteville's treasured landmark. This juried art show is a metro Atlanta favorite and will be on the Courthouse Square Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and 21.

New this year is the Main Street Fayetteville Children's Sidewalk Chalk-Art Gallery. Using the sidewalk as their canvas, children can create their very own chalk art gallery that will adorn the sidewalks around the Courthouse.

Main Street Fayetteville also will offer free tours of the newly renovated 1906 Hollingsworth House at 250 West Stonewall Ave. This will be the public's first opportunity to view this spectacular house. The house, furnished with antique furniture appropriate to its period, will be used as a public facility for special event occasions such as weddings, receptions and other celebrations.
