Briefs Fayetteville First Baptist sets blood drive The Fayetteville First Baptist Church will sponsor a Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, May 17 from 3:30-7:30 p.m. The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the church on Stonewall Ave. near the Fayette County Courthouse. Minister/comedian will speak at senior luncheon Senior adults at McDonough Road Baptist Church are invited to bring a covered dish and enjoy the fellowship and entertainment at a Senior Adults Luncheon on Thursday, May 18. Special guest will be Roy Snider, a 91-year-old minister/comedian. The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by the program at 12:30 p.m. For more information, call the church at 770-460-5423. McDonough Rd. plans yard sale Saturday Members of McDonough Road Baptist Church will have a yard sale this Saturday, May 20, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the old Wal-Mart on Ga. Cornerstone men plan breakfast at Shoney's The men of Cornerstone Bible Church will have breakfast at Shoney's in Fayetteville Saturday, May 20 at 8 a.m. All men of the church are invited. `Spirit Bound' to present musical at Christ Our Hope Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church will host the musical group Spirit Bound, from Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Apple Valley, Minn., in a performance of Embracing Grace, Sunday, June 18, at both worship services. The group is composed of 65 youth and adults. The Sunday performances will be preceded by a potluck supper Saturday evening. Holly Grove A.M.E. sets 103rd anniversary activities Holly Grove A.M.E. Church in Peachtree City will celebrate 103 years of service to the community with special activities planned for Sunday, June 4, at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Alexander D. Hamilton, VI, president of the Coalition for Young Black Ministers. Holly Grove was established in 1897 and is the only church in Fayette County with an official road marker from the National Trust for Historical Preservation. Covenant Presbyterian schedules musical drama The community is invited to join members of Covenant Presbyterian Church as they present an All Church Celebration of Christ's Life, a musical drama, Sunday, May 21 at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the program. PTCUMC schedules service at amphitheater May 21 Members of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church are having an All-Church Celebration on Sunday, May 21, beginning with a combined worship service (all three Sunday services in one) at 10 a.m. at the Frederick Brown Amphitheater. The service will be followed by a picnic lunch. Members are advised to dress casually. Childcare will be available for infants and children through preschool at The Gathering Place. School-age children are encouraged to attend the service. Weigh Down classes start at PTCUMC May 24 Summer sessions of the Weigh Down Biblical weight control classes are scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 24, at 9:30 a.m. at the Peachtree City United Methodist Church.
