I am glad The Citizen has had the guts to jump into the fray regarding the candidates for superior court judge.

Many may not be aware that Fayette is part of the Griffin Judicial circuit, which covers Fayette, Spalding, Pike and Upson counties.

Johnnie Caldwell was appointed to his judgeship by then-Governor Zell Miller. The citizens of this district did not put him in the position he now holds.

[His challenger John] Mrosek deserves a lot of respect. It takes a lot of guts to run against a sitting judge because there can and will be repercussions to the attorney who at some time will appear in front of his former opponent.

As the former president of the South Atlanta Chapter of Fathers Are Parents Too, I received numerous complaints from men and fathers regarding their treatment in Judge Caldwell's courtroom. Dads appear to be only walking wallets as far as Judge Caldwell is concerned.

It is time to remove Johnnie Caldwell from office and get him off the backs of taxpayers.
