Panthers to host spring fling on Friday

Starr's Mill High School senior girls will take on the junior girls at their first annual Powder Puff football game at Spring Fling Friday, May 12 at 5:30 p.m. at Panther Stadium.

Junior and senior boys will be cheerleaders and dance team members for the contest.

Other events will include a faculty softball game pitting the Rising Starr faculty against Starr's Mill's finest at 4 p.m. at the softball field and the first Panther spring football game in the new stadium at 7:30 p.m.

The public is invited to see Fayette County's newest stadium. General admission tickets will be available at the gate for $5. A super ticket can be purchased for $15 and entitles the holder to admission to all events and entry into a drawing for door prizes. The prizes include round trip tickets on AirTran, gift certificates to restaurants, and panther season tickets.

Profits from the game and concessions will go to the Panther Athletic Booster Club, a non-profit organization that helps fund all South Complex sports teams. The Booster Club has raised money to pay for a large portion of the new stadium`s amenities, including the upgraded concrete bleachers, and is curently funding construction of two multi-purpose facilities for the high school and middle school.
