Builders hear from inspectors

Four local building officials from the five-county area served by the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia were the program speakers at the association's March meeting recently at WhiteWater Country Club.

Addressing the group about current and future issues in the home building industry were Tom Carty, building official for city of Peachtree City; Ron Garrett, building official for Meriwether County; Ed Davis, daeputy building official for the city of Newnan, and David Fjeran, building official for the city of Franklin and an inspector for Coweta County.

During the business portion of the meeting, it was reported that the organization's recent softball tournament at McCurry Park in Fayetteville had been a success, and the participating teams from Fairburn Ready Mix, Arbor Springs Plantation, Metro Builders Supply, Leeds Building Products, and Walker Concrete were thanked.

Corporate sponsor for the meeting was the Coweta-Fayette EMC.
